A lorry fire is causing long delays on the A417 in Gloucestershire this morning (Tuesday, May 7). The vehicle burst into flames shortly before 8am on the main road near Winstone, according to traffic monitor Inrix.
Delays are building on the road between the turn offs for Winstone and Elkstone. Footage taken at the scene show a huge amount of black smoke coming from the vehicle, which is completely engulfed in flames.
Inrix reports:”A417 Northbound blocked, delays due to lorry fire from Winstone turn off to Winstone / Elkstone turn off.”

National Highways said: “The A417 in Gloucestershire is closed in both directions between the A436 (Air Balloon Roundabout) and A429 (Cirencester) due to a lorry fire.
“Emergency services are in attendance and National Highways have deployed resources to assist with traffic management. “
