President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced in his morning conference this Tuesday, who proposed the Mexican Katya Echazarreta for an upcoming NASA space mission.

This step highlights the growing interest in including Mexican talents in international space exploration projects.

Katya Echazarreta, who has already made a suborbital trip as part of a civilian mission, won recognition for being the first Mexican woman to travel to space. Her experience and skills make her an ideal candidate for future missions.

López Obrador expressed that although the final decision rests with NASA, Echazarreta is an excellent option thanks to its outstanding performance and the interest that the space agency has shown in having more Mexican representation.
