Far from home, the Brazilian Corinthians and Independiente Medellín were victorious this Tuesday against Nacional of Paraguay and César Vallejo of Peru, respectively, and renewed their hopes in the always challenging group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.
In Trujillo, Independiente Medellín was too much for Universidad César Vallejo and ended the match with a 5-1 win for the visitors, dispatching three of their own in the second half.
A double from Leon (15 and 45) and goals from Garcia (59), Monsalve (73) and Perlaza (79) marked the celebration of the coffee growers, against a local team that was excited about the game with a goal from Cedeno in the 21st minute. .
