A collection of athletes who won four gold medals at their conference or league meets highlights this week’s lehighvalleylive boys track and field athletes of the week.

Each week, usually on Fridays, we will recognize an athlete of the week from the Colonial League, Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and the lehighvalleylive New Jersey coverage area. We will also select an overall athlete of the week.

New Jersey Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Mr. Cameron Bohal, Phillipsburg

Ran the fastest 400-meter intermediate hurdles time of 2024 in the region when he won the race in 58.93 seconds in the annual rivalry dual meet with Easton.

Colonial League Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Mr. Dainn Vassallo, Notre Dame

Threw a personal-best of almost 25 feet to win the javelin throw at 154 feet, 7 inches at the league championship meet. The throw ranks No. 5 in the region this spring.

EPC Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Mr. Andrew Beers, Parkland

He collected four gold medals at the conference championship meet, as he won both hurdles, 110 high and 300 intermediate and the open 400 race and anchored Parkland’s 1,600-meter relay home in first. In two of the races, the 300 intermediate hurdles and the relay, Beers posted the fastest time in the region this year, and he holds the year’s best in the other two events from earlier performances.

lehighvalleylive Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week

Mr. AJ Sasso, Notre Dame

Won four gold medals in leading the Crusaders to the first Colonial League championship-meet title in program history. Sasso ran on the winning 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays, and won the 800 and 1,600-meter runs, both in personal-best times (2:00.4 and 4:34.6, respectively).
