The president of the Agrarian Federation, Carlos Achetoni, died in the early hours of today after being involved in a tragic accident near the Buenos Aires city of Florentino Ameghino and it was the entity itself that announced the news.

The tragic event occurred while Achetoni was driving alone in his Fiat Palio car on National Route 188 between Ameghino and C. Granada, and collided with the back of a truck transporting peanuts.

As a result of the strong impact, Achetoni died instantly, while the truck that came from La Carlota overturned the trailer on the asphalt strip.

“Argentine Agrarian Federation regrets to report the death this morning of its president, Carlos Achetoni, in a car accident. This unfortunate event mourns and saddens the leadership and all the federated members,” said the official statement.

According to details released by Chacra magazine, the accident occurred on Route 188, between Ameghino and Granada, province of Buenos Aires. The death of the rural leader occurred at midnight at kilometer 304 of the route when a Fiat Palio car collided with the back of a truck
