The top executive of the American investment fund Blackstone, Stephen Schwarzman, assures that he will give his vote to the Republican candidate for the elections and former president Donald Trump (2017-2021) despite previously calling for “new generations” in the party.

“I share the concern of most Americans that our economic, immigration and foreign policies “They are taking the country in the wrong direction.”said the magnate, who is a regular donor to the Republican Party, in a statement to the digital media Axios.

Schwarzman, 77, said in 2022, in the US midterm elections, that the party had to be renewed with new leaders and assured that he would support “one of them in the presidential primaries”, distancing himself from the “leaders of today and yesterday”, in a veiled reference to Trump.

The Jewish businessman now claims that the Trump is a “vote for change” and explained that this decision, in addition to the aforementioned policies, is linked to his faith: “The dramatic rise of anti-Semitism has led me to focus on the consequences of the next elections with greater urgency.”

“I will also support Republican Senate candidates and other Republicans in other positions.”said Schwarzman, a well-known and influential Wall Street figure who in the past has made significant donations to Republican committees in the country’s recent elections.
