IEEM-INE guaranteed complete, transparent and autonomous elections

The Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM) and the National Electoral Institute (INE) in the entity stated that, after months of intense work, they managed to guarantee honest and exemplary elections.

They assured in their respective permanent sessions that they provided the necessary conditions so that the more than 13 million Mexicans with the right to vote could exercise it safely, as they toasted in each polling station. unforgeable ballotss, they had 12 security measures to guarantee their authenticity; with transparent ballot boxes and gates to guarantee the secrecy of the vote; indelible liquid so that no one would vote more than once; indelible ballot marker, in addition to ensuring that the citizens themselves would receive and count the votes.

At the time, at the beginning of Electoral Day, the IEEM councils emphasized three fundamental issues: first, the need for citizens to go to the polls; second, cast a free, informed and reasoned vote; Third, be certain that the Institute not only prepared a historic election, but also the most inclusive of all, by incorporating affirmative actions, through which 148 candidates were promoted for historically vulnerable groups (people with disabilities, indigenous people, people of sexual diversity and Afro-Mexicans) and enforce gender parity.

“The organization of the elections, every process and moment is duly cared for and planned. This Sunday, June 2, is not a time for apathy, it is an opportunity to build the governments and Congress of the coming years; Let’s go out into the streets to show the pride of being Mexicans, of learning to act collectively,” said the IEEM president advisor, Amalia Pulido Gómez, at the time.

Meanwhile, the member of the INE in the entity, Joaquín Rubio Sánchez, emphasized that the fraud on election day was technically and humanly impossible, and asked the parties, actors and media not to polarize, take responsibility and wait for the official results. which will only be made known by the INE.

“The INE is not a contender in the election, the INE has no opponent or adversaries, it is only the referee, we are respectful of all contenders and we demand the same, the INE is not interested in who wins, but rather in participation at the polls,” he asserted.

And he added “As I have been repeating, distrusting the citizens who make the election only because they do not favor us in the results, is distrusting democracy, the moment of voting is the one in which all Mexicans are equal, a “One vote is worth the same as another, regardless of their social, economic or academic condition, their beliefs or their tastes.”

Finally, they indicated that the day of June 2 was one of the most observed, since the political parties accredited 15,838 general representatives and 264,727 thousand polling place representatives, in addition to 3,300 people to carry out electoral observation and the entity counted with international visitors from Chile, the United States, Jamaica, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Russia and Venezuela, as well as the Organization of American States (OAE).
