Each 3 of Junein Argentina is celebrated on Day of the Argentine Soldier in honor of General Manuel Belgranowho was born in 1770. This commemoration was established by the Law No. 24,323sanctioned on May 11, 1994.
He article 3 of said law defines the “outstanding” soldier like that citizen who, during his compulsory military servicehas stood out for its morals, ethics, spirit of sacrifice, dedication to work, camaraderie and commitment to republican idealsvalues that identify the General Manuel Belgrano.
This outstanding hero of Argentine history was a economist, journalist and military man and one of the main drivers of the May revolution. Furthermore, he is recognized as the creator of the National Flag of the Argentine Republic and participated in several battles, being victorious in many of them, such as the Battle of Tucumán and the Battle of Salta. After obtaining his degree lawyer in Spainalso served as perpetual secretary of the Consulate of Buenos Aires and participated in the Expedition to Paraguay and Upper Peru.
On this date, we not only remember the birth of Manuel Belgranobut also honors the work of all those who served and continue to serve the country, including the Malvinas heroes.
