The delegation, made up of more than 40 people including teachers and students of the third, seventh and eighth cycle of the Civil Engineering degree, was received by the engineers David Castañeda, Gerardo Chang, William Araujo and Louggi Navarro, in addition to the students of the ASCE UDEP student branch.

To begin the tour of Piura, the team from the Catholic University of Cuenca (Ucacue) visited the Los Ejidos dam. There, UDEP students and professors explained some of the geographical and hydraulic characteristics of Piura.

Then, Eng. Kiara Tesén, teaching assistant at the Institute of Hydraulics, Hydrology and Sanitary Engineering at UDEP, gave a talk about the Civil Engineering academic program. In this session, some of the activities and technical resources provided by the program were announced, as well as the facilities, equipment and lines of research.

Visitors also learned about the specialized laboratories, including the Fluids Laboratory and the Construction Materials Testing Laboratory (LEMC).

The meeting between students from UDEP and the Catholic University of Cuenca generated a space for conversation about the challenges facing civil engineering in 2030 and proposals for solutions to specific urban problems.
