“I get up every morning to improve and beat Sinner”

Roland Garros hopes to experience a great semifinal this Friday. Carlos Alcaraz will face off with Jannik Sinner, new world number one after Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal from the tournament due to a meniscus tear. He will do it after crushing Stéfanos Tsitsipas and showering praise on the Italian after the match.

“I’m not going to lie. I think he’s the best player in the world right now. I mean, the player who is playing tennis best right now. What can I say about him? I think we have played great games at a high level,” said the Murcian.

“I’m glad to have him on the circuit and to have him at this level because Thanks to him I strive to be betterfor being a better player, for giving 100% every day, for getting up in the morning and wanting to improve my game, to try to beat him,” Alcaraz added.

Alcaraz made it clear that he is “grateful to have him playing” and believes that “it will be a really difficult challenge” for him. “I’m ready to accept that challenge“I am ready to put on a show on this beautiful court. I think it is the match that everyone wants to see and I am sure that he will show his best tennis, and so will I… and we will see who will win,” he said.

Regarding his experience in previous matches, Alcaraz believes that it will be vital for the match against Sinner. “In the end it is going to be one of the biggest challenges currently in tennis. “I think we will try to learn from what happened, from the previous days, to try to do things perhaps a little better than what I did last year and see how it goes.”
