They demand a recount of votes in municipalities

In some municipalities in the state of Oaxaca, the advantage between the first and second place candidates for municipal presidencies was minimal, which could lead to challenges.

One of these cases was registered in the municipality of Asunción Cuyotepeji, where the Nueva Alianza Oaxaca (NAO) candidate Irene Vásquez Bravo won with 257 votes in favor, against 253 votes obtained by the PAN, with a difference of four votes.

Another example was the Villa de Etla where the Citizen Movement (MC) won with Elías Roberto Mendoza Pérez who obtained 1,550 votes, however Fuerza por México Oaxaca reached 1,533 votes, a difference of 17 votes.

Here in Etla, given the closeness of the race for the municipal presidency, the Rosa party (FXMO) has requested a total recount of the vote by pushing the so-called “vote by vote” from the council.

Voting closed in the Villa de Etla

Similarly, in the municipality of Ayotzintepec, the PRI, with René Luna Ramírez, won victory in the last municipal elections, obtaining 933 votes and the Morena candidate obtained 847 votes, with a minimum difference of 86 votes.

However, one of the figures that has prevailed in the government of Putla Villa de Guerrero has been the Independent route, where with the help of the candidate without a party, Próspero Cruz Ricardo, he won the municipal election with 6,290 votes.

This community located in lower Mixteca has spent three three-year terms under governments emanating from a figure without a political party, since last Sunday not even Morena achieved a good vote, remaining in second place with 4,654 votes.

Meanwhile, the current municipal president María Fernanda Barbosa Sosa, who sought re-election, went to second place sheltered by the acronyms of Morena and PVEM, achieving only 7,722 votes, remaining only 222 votes away from victory.

Another one is the municipality of Valerio Trujano, where the Popular Unity Party (PUP) won with its candidate Dante Miranda Moral, who obtained 494 votes in favor against the Morena candidate, Edith Bueno Arenas, who obtained 428 votes. with a difference of 66 votes.

And also in the municipality of Santa Lucía del Camino, given the closeness of the race, the Citizen Movement (MC) candidate, Luis Rey López Martínez, who received 9,564 votes, seeks a total vote count, given that the virtual President-elect Juan Carlos García Márquez (Morena) obtained 10,524 votes, with a difference of 960 votes.

However, the determination of vote counting or opening of polls will depend on the decisions made by the Municipal Council, together with the representations of the political parties to give greater certainty to the results of last Sunday’s elections.
