Juan Nardoni: why does Racing want to buy him and Unión sell him?

Juan Ignacio Nardoni, 21 years old, sold from Unión to Racing in January of last year at an official figure reported by the López y Planes entity at $4,750,000, which was the highest figure for Tate transfers since the little factory began. These days, “Juani” made noise for two things: 1) he was in the race with Mascherano for the Olympic Games (he felt discomfort in one of his knees); 2) the collection and payment of the expected second installment is imminent in the Tate treasury.

At the time, the Tate only reported three issues about the transfer: 1) The sale is made for $4,750,000, maintaining 10 percent of capital gains from a future sale; 2) The total amount with taxes that Racing will pay to Unión is 6 million dollars; 3) The payment of the transfer is the Banco de la Nación Argentina dollar quote.

What that statement did not explain, at the time, are some asterisks of the operation:

  • First example: the 10 percent capital gain for Unión is above a stipulated amount of $8,000,000.
  • Second example: Union keeps thirty (30) percent of the economic rights
  • Third example: Racing has two windows, until 2026, to buy that thirty (30) from Tate. 15 percent next year and the other 15 percent on the aforementioned date two years from now.

To have an idea, each 15 percent is set at $750,000, something that Racing “is obliged” to pay if Juan Ignacio Nardoni plays half of the games in the 2024 and 2025 season in Avellaneda (all competitions are added). ).

Some time ago, Racing floated the idea of ”advancing” the purchase without waiting for sports assistance for which the “5” must play half of the games. The reason?: simple, keeping that remaining 30 percent in exchange for 1.5 M dollars.

The chance to be in the Paris Olympic Games (it is still valid despite that pain in his knee) and the interest of a couple of European clubs suggest Nardoni’s price is well above ten (10) million euros. To have an idea: if an offer for that amount arrived today, the 30th of Union would have a cost of 3 million euros; If the offer arrived after the two windows, Racing would keep that percentage for just half (1.5 million of the green coin).

What should be clear and beyond any discussion is that, in either of the two hypotheses, the Tate will always have the capital gain of ten (10) percent above 8 million dollars. Therefore, regarding Nardoni’s idea for the future with a possible European signing, the “Argentine partners” have different times: Unión is better off selling “now” while Racing wants to buy that 30 from the Tate before the expected called of Europe.

Looking ahead to the Olympic Games, the Argentine Under 23 Team is training to play the last friendlies before the big event. However, Javier Mascherano’s team is not going through a great moment. To the loss of Equi Fernández, Juan Nardoni, the Racing midfielder, has now been added. On this occasion, the Academy footballer felt discomfort in his knee in the second practice he did with the rest of the squad. Therefore, he was left unaffected for the friendlies. However, it should be noted that his situation is not serious because he only suffered muscle fatigue.

In February of this same year, Juan Nardoni returned torn from the Pre-Olympic. At that time, the midfielder injured the hamstring in his left leg in the first half that the Argentine National Team played against Paraguay and had to be replaced. After spending a month off the field, the midfielder returned to be on the Racing coach’s squad list at the beginning of March.

Before the Games, the Argentine Under 23 Team will play two friendlies against Paraguay, a rival with whom it lost the final of the last Pre-Olympic. Then, more precisely in July, Javier Mascherano’s team will start its journey in Paris. In this edition, the Albiceleste will be part of Group B with Morocco, Ukraine and Iraq and will make their debut on July 24 at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard against the African team.
