Conmebol has revealed the image for the Copa America 2024, which was inspired by the flag of the United States to create the visual aspects that will decorate the 48th edition of the oldest national team tournament. Featuring the characteristic symbols of the ‘stars and stripes’ along with the colors red, white and blue, the tournament will take place from June 20 to July 12 next year in the United States.

The competition will bring together the 10 countries that are part of the South American confederation, along with six countries from Concacaf, who will participate as invited guests.

The cities and venues for Copa América 2024 are as follows: Santa Clara, California; Inglewood, California; The Vegas, Nevada; Glendale, Arizona; Austin, Texas; Houston Texas; Arlington, Texas; Kansas City, Kansas; Kansas City, Missouri; East Rutherford, New Jersey; Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta Georgia; Orlando, Florida; and Miami, Florida.

This will be the second time that one of the continent’s most important competitions will feature 16 participants. The first time this format was used was in 2016, through an extraordinary and commemorative edition Copa America Centenario to celebrate the tournament’s centennial event.

On that occasion, Chile was crowned champion via penalties (4-2) against Lionel Messi’s Argentina. At MetLife Stadium, the Andean team secured the title they had won the previous year at home, which was also achieved against Argentina, with a 4-1 score in the penalty shootout.
