The PP candidate for the European Parliament, Eva Poptcheva, visited Alcázar de San Juan this Wednesday together with the mayor of El Pedernoso (Cuenca) and spokesperson for the FEMP in the region, Ana Cantarero, within the electoral campaign of the popular a the European elections. The candidate is touring the region to learn about the concerns of the neighbors and what the funds coming from Brussels have been invested in, precisely because she held the position of vice president of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
Poptcheva, who appeared alongside the local president of the PP and municipal spokesperson, José Antonio Navarro, pointed out that, within World Environment Day, there is an issue that greatly worries citizens, water, in addition to pointing out that it also worries to the Castilian-La Mancha industry, infrastructure and the rule of law.
According to the popular candidate, on a day like today, “we cannot fall into the green dogmatism of the PSOE and its partners” and added that we cannot fight climate change “with companies in the red.”
He has also assured that the PP will not allow farmers and ranchers to be criminalized, “given the lack of support for this sector.”
The MEP, after learning about García-Page’s plan on water matters, pointed out that “we do not see a solution with water or drought”, which is why the PP proposes a National Water Plan and a Blue Plan for the Water in Europe. “We will make water stress a criterion for the distribution of Cohesion and Rural Development Funds, in such a way that a community like this, which has a lot of water stress, will receive more funds for rural development.”
After the concerns about water, the need for a large industrial network and infrastructure, “so that C-LM is not a place of passage, like the AVE, but rather a place to stay”, Poptcheva has added another concern of the neighbors, the attack frontal to the rule of law promoted by the Government.
