The works to improve access to the urban area of Andorra they have already started. The ten students employees for one year thanks to the new experiential employment and training program ‘Conditioning Access to the Urban Centre’ will be in charge of its renewal.
This employment workshop has been promoted by the Andorra City Council, from where they saw the renewal of this environment as “an indispensable task”. Inaempleo works in its organization, and it also has financing from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
During these months, the six men and four women who are part of it have been able to acquire the previous theoretical knowledge to be able to carry out the work, while now they have already got down to work to fix the main entrance to the mining townlocated between the bus station and Aragón street.
At the moment “they have started opening the trench where the curb to be created will be placed,” explains Antonio León, director of the experiential workshop. In these coming months they will continue with the process until completion date for the works, set in January 2025. «We are going to build a sidewalk that continues to the bypass. The objective is for everything to be ready within the deadlines, but it must be emphasized that we are conditioned because this is the main avenue and there are usually quite a few events,” adds León. Additionally, as part of the project, The intermediate area of Dos de Mayo Avenue will be improvedon its left bank next to the open field, as well as Alacón Street.
The students, who have been hired for one year as part of this program, will obtain two certificates within the masonry specialty: auxiliary operations in rigid finishes and urbanization and masonry factories.
Works on La Loma street
This is not the only great performance that is taking place in Andorra today. The municipality is also located finishing the works on La Loma street, one of the most important actions for the municipality given the dimensions of this road and its function of connection and link with other streets in the urban area.
These other works will serve to redevelop its layout, in addition to renewing its supply, sanitation, electricity, lighting and gas networks. The reform of this road will take place from the roundabout where the Alloza highway and Escucha y Progreso street meet until its confluence with La Fuente street.
