Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly announced that he will leave acting after a 20-year career to focus on more personal matters.

The Alberta native said in an Instagram post that she will be “stepping away” from Hollywood. In the post, Lilly shared a video from 2006 of herself talking about her hopes for her future. “I’m terrified to admit this to the rest of the acting world, but ideally, in 10 years, I would like to be a retired actress and I would like to have a family“, he expresses in the video.

In the post, the Ant-Man actress wrote that she is “so full of joy and satisfaction today as I live out my vision. Praise God, I feel very grateful for my blessings“.

“Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can be scary at times, but entering the dharma replaces fear with fulfillment“he added.

Lilly rose to fame on the television series lostplaying Kate Austen from 2004 to 2010. She later starred in films such as The Hurt Locker and The Hobbit saga before playing Hope Van Dyne/Wasp in the Ant-Man trilogy and in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
