This Wednesday, June 5, the draw for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024 took place in Bogotá.

The event took place at the Hall 74 Event Center in the Colombian capital and defined the destiny of the tournament, which gave final shape to the match schedule of the eleventh edition of the competition, the first with 24 participating teams—instead of the previous format of 16—.

The tournament is highly anticipated, as it is the most important women’s soccer tournament that the country has ever organized.

The president of the FCF spoke

Ramón Jesurún, president of the Colombian Football Federation, began the draw with a short speech in which he welcomed the 23 teams, plus Colombia, that will be in the tournament.

The leader excused the absence of FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who was supposed to be at the ceremony, but could not attend.

However, the boss of world football shared, through a video, a welcome message to the tournament that will be held in Colombia in three cities: Bogotá, Cali and Medellín.

Tickets for the U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Bogotá, Cali and Medellín from August 31 to September 22, will go on sale on Thursday, June 6 at 08:00 am

What time is the draw?

The event, which will take place at the Hall 74 Event Center in the Colombian capital, will begin at 10:00 am (local time).

This will be the third FIFA competition held in the coffee-growing nation following the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

This is the second edition of the Women’s U-20 World Cup organized in the CONMEBOL region, after Chile 2008.
