When a music legend like Ringo Starr performs in Mexico you can see everything, because, without a doubt, the music he recorded with The Beatles and alone has taken over a privileged place in the history books.

Ringo is pure love and peace, and it took almost 10 years for the Briton to give that to his Mexican fans again.

Yesterday Ringo & His All Starr Band stepped on the stage of the National Auditorium again with the 15th All Starr Band tour, where 10 thousand people applauded them, danced and sang with them for almost two hours, starting the evening with Matchbox, a Carl Perkins cover .

“Thank you, good night, Mexico City. Are you ready for a good time, to dance with a good night?, each of you tonight I am sure you know at least one song, like the one below which is It Don’t Come Easy“, Ringo launched before his audience among which some Sergeants Pimienta could be seen.

“My name is Ringo and this is the All Starr Band. Tonight everyone is a star and I leave you here with Steve Lukather,” said the Briton when introducing the Toto guitarist, who is part of his ensemble and who, of course, gave the public a classic from his group: Rosannawhile Starr took the place that immortalized him in music: the drums.

So it was time to introduce Hamish Stuart, original member of Average White Band, who made the audience sing with different notes of Pick Up The Pieces.

Hamish introduced Colin Hay from Men At Work.

“Good evening, it’s a pleasure to be here with Ringo. “It is the best city in the world,” the guitarist launched in Spanish before the unmistakable intro of Down Under took over the Colossus of Reforma and made hundreds of people remember what it was like at the dawn of 1980.

Seeing Ringo Starr and all these artists gathered on the same stage is like being inside a time machine, which went back to the 60s and traveled to the present day. It is a treat to see each of them do what they have always done and enjoy it as if it were the first time… and Starr, at 83 years old, is the one who has the most fun.

“This is one of those songs that I played a long time ago… long before those I did with the band that you think,” Ringo said, drawing laughter and applause from the fans, which went back to the early 60s with Boysa song originally recorded by the female band The Shirelles.

“Ringo, Ringo, Ringo, Ringo!” the people shouted, while the former Beatle danced. “Love and peace, I love you too. This song was written by John, my friend John and I’m not afraid to say that I’m The Greatest”said Starr before giving life to Lennon’s song.

“Turn on the lights,” he asked the Auditorium production and did not hesitate to approach the edge of the stage to greet people, ask them how they were and praise some of the outfits that made reference to the cover of Sgt.Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Bandwhile giving life to Yellow Submarineof the disk Stir, of 1966.

The audience couldn’t help but enjoy Ringo and they knew that the show would be something they would enjoy to the fullest, so they didn’t hesitate to bring out some yellow balloons to light up the atmosphere.

“Let me tell you that our show has many magical moments and one of them is when Hamish stays in charge while I go to the dressing room for a cup of tea,” the very British man launched, leaving Stuart in charge of Cut The Cakewhich had a mashup with We will Rock You from Queen, Come Together from The Beatles, Rock And Roll and Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin,

“I left them in the water of the yellow submarine and now they are coming back,” said Ringo upon returning to the stage to perform Octupus’s Gardenin which some sang very discreetly and let themselves be carried away by their psychedelia.

Back Off Boogaloo He arrived with all his rock strength to the band’s first show on this return to CDMX, just to prepare the way for Overkill by Men At Work, Africa from Toto and Work To Do by The Isley Brothers, in which Starr provided the hype.

“It’s me, again. Are there young girls in the audience? Well, this one is for you,” Ringo said to dedicate to them. I Wanna Be Your Man.

Two classics took hold of the people: Who Can It Be Now, by Men At Work, and Hold The Lineby Toto, with Lukather on the strings.

Excited to see so many people wearing Sergeant Pimienta’s costumes and wearing their best t-shirts from him or The Liverpool Quartet, Ringo did not hesitate to say that he would like to have a big camera to take their picture… and so he introduced photographyfollowed by With A Little Help From My Friends and Give Peace a Chance, a couple of ideal songs to say goodbye to a night full of stars and history at the National Auditorium. Even though Ringo has a new EP, Crooked Boyalong with members of The Strokes and written by Linda Perry, did not perform any songs and left everything in the hands of nostalgia.
