How the increase works
As of April 3, a new tariff structure came into effect that has not yet been reflected in the invoices issued in the first days of June, given that the reading of consumption is bimonthly, although billing is done monthly. Therefore, what is billed in these bills corresponds to readings from March to April, with the costs of the new tariff structure being fully applied from July onwards.
The people with middle and low incomes will be the most affected due to the increase in service, since they received state subsidies in the price of gas. In the case of R1 users (who consume fewer cubic meters) with higher incomes (N1), the increase in the fixed charge will be 449%. At the same level of consumption, lower-income users (N2) will experience an increase in 617%. For their part, middle-income users will see an increase of 564%. It is important to note that as consumption increases, the gap in increases also increases.
