With the philosophy that “a single day can change your entire life,” World Wellness Day will be celebrated this Saturday, June 8, with free wellness activities simultaneously, in more than 100 countries including Costa Rica.

This initiative was born as an international movement with the main objective of raising awareness and promoting health care in all its areas.

Since 2012 in Turkey, its founder Belgin Aksoy has taken the initiative to carry out free activities so that people can participate voluntarily. Thus little by little more people, organizations and countries are joining this philosophy.

For this 2024 in Costa Rica, a series of special activities has been prepared to commemorate this important day, inviting everyone to join a unique wellness experience in the midst of the impressive nature of Costa Rica since this year’s motto is #magentanature. Some of these activities will include:

  • Outdoor yoga and meditation classes.
  • Guided walks along scenic trails.
  • Healthy eating workshops
  • Talks and workshops on comprehensive well-being.

Laura Barrantes, ambassador in Costa Rica for Global Wellness Day, assured that the country firmly believes in the importance of comprehensive well-being and is committed to offering unique experiences that promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

“Global Wellness Day is a perfect opportunity to reconnect with yourself, enjoy nature and adopt habits that benefit physical, mental and emotional well-being,” commented Barrantes.

Since 2015, Costa Rica has been part of this important movement, which has had great support from public and private organizations and institutions, such as the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism, the National Chamber of Tourism, the Costa Rican Association of Tourism Professionals, the
Costa Rica Wellness Association, tourism union chambers, as well as companies in the sector that have organized over the years to carry out actions both with the community, as well as with their collaborators and clients.

For this Saturday, June 8, you are invited to take a hike through the Vara Blanca mountains, courtesy of Vista a Cielo Mountain Lodge, to begin at 9:00 am, at 11:30 am the talk “well-being habits” will be given ” and at noon art therapy coloring mandalas.
