QUEEN CREEK, Arizona. – A man was arrested in relation to a traffic accident that left a 4-year-old girl dead on June 5, near Power Road and Hunt Highway.

The accident occurred around 11:30 am, when the detainee He collided with his vehicle at about 60 mph.against the back of a minivan that was stopped at a stop sign.

The two occupants of the minivan, an adult and two children, were injured. A 4-year-old girl identified as Lily died Thursday in the hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was identified as Jason Sánchez, 33 years old, who had a blood alcohol level of 0.11 at the time of the accident.

The subject was arrested at the scene and booked into the Pinal County Jail, where faces serious charges of second-degree murder and driving under the influence (DUI).

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family during this incredibly difficult time; the loss of a child is unimaginable,” said Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice.

The other people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries. Authorities have not revealed any further details about the case.
