If you are a foreign tourist who will soon arrive in Peru, take into account the recommendations provided by the National Superintendence of Migration to make your visit a pleasant and hassle-free experience, especially during your passage through the Immigration or Border Control Post. through which you enter or leave the country.

Migrations reminds you that to enter Peru it is necessary to present your passport with a minimum validity of six months, with the respective visa, if required by the Peruvian State. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a declaration of inadmissibility, so you will be re-embarked to your country of origin.

If you belong to a member nation of the Andean Community or Mercosur, you will be able to enter national territory carrying your current identity card.

With this form, you will be able to prove your stay in the country, in case you are intervened by the National Police of Peru and Immigration during a verification and inspection operation.

Authorized stay

Migrations grants a permit for a period of up to 183 days to foreign citizens as tourists. If you exceed that period, you must pay a daily fine equivalent to 0.1% of the Tax Unit (UIT), for each day of excess permanence. Remember that the ITU for this year amounts to S/ 5,150.

If you suffer from the loss or theft of your passport or identity document, you will have to go to your nearest consulate to arrange a new one and process a safe passage that allows you to return to your country of origin.

On the other hand, if you entered as a tourist and need to sign commercial, financial, private or public documents in Peru, remember to request a special permit to sign documents, which is issued free of charge, through the Digital Migrations Agency.
