Eugenio Derbez has worked on important productions such as ‘Derbez en siempre’; ‘Anabel’; ‘The stuffed family’; ‘To the right and to the Derbez’ and he has been a voice actor, he was even the donkey in the famous film ‘Shrek’, but without a doubt his masterpiece is the tragicomedy ‘No refunds’.

“When they found out that it was a film by Eugenio Derbez, no one wanted to finance it,” the actor said in Se dice de mí, on Caracol Televisión.
According to what Eugenio Derbez narrated, carrying out ‘No returns accepted’ was difficult, since no investor trusted the project.
“It took me 12 years, 12 years because no one wanted to invest the money and everyone – when they found out that it was a film by Eugenio Derbez – did not want to finance it. With a month left to launch the film, my co-producer approaches me and tells me ‘Eugenio doesn’t have enough money for advertising, we are still short’ and I tell him ‘what do I do, because I have a lot of faith in this film, I feel that there is something very special and I would like to put my money into it, I would like to get involved with an investor’ and he told me ‘I don’t recommend it,’” the Mexican revealed.

However, the film managed to see the light amidst so many negatives and was a success at the global box office.
“(His co-producer) does not encourage me to invest and I decide not to invest my money. “If I had ignored it and put my money there, right now I would be on a yacht in the Mediterranean, because that movie made 100 million dollars,” Eugenio Derbez pointed out.
