A new type of propulsion engine could benefit from the supposed discovery

Achieving thrust without a propellant could be a milestone in modern physics

Perhaps, in the future, some NASA missions or other space agencies can take advantage of a investigation carried out by Charles Buhler, former NASA engineer. Traveling through the Solar System today is complicated and expensive, but who knows if a new type of engine, like the one this engineer has in mind, could be useful to us in a few decades. Of course, for the moment the skepticism reigns in the scientific community.

A new force of physics for a future propellantless engine

As you can see in the video that we show you below, Charles Buhler claims to have discovered a new physical strengthwhich could be the key to the development of future propulsion systems.

His company, Exodus Propulsion Technologies, already patented in 2019 a system that allowed generating force through what is known as ‘asymmetric electrostatic pressure’. This system, in summary, is capable of generating a voltage difference across an electrically conductive surface.

As described in said patent, ‘the voltage difference applied creates a electric field which results in a electrostatic pressure force on at least one surface of an object’. And this is where this new physical force is interesting, since Buhler’s team claims that said force he is able to overcome earth’s gravity.

Furthermore, it seems that the researchers have come across something more surprising: the device is capable of maintaining acceleration even without a constant electrical input. Of course, there are still many doubts about this supposed new force in physics, since if it were true, we would be talking about a incredible progress for the development of engines for space exploration. And with statements like those made by Charles Buhler, his discovery seems to be extraordinary:

There are rules that include conservation of energy, but if done correctly, one can generate forces like nothing humanity has ever done before. It will be this force that will be used to propel objects for the next 1,000 years, until the next revolution arrives.

For the moment, the engineer United States has invited professional colleagues to take a look at your results as they try to understand what laws of physics are being manipulated in their experiments. And that is why we still have to be cautious when talking about a revolution in physics, since we need deeper analyzes to affirm that ‘asymmetric electrostatic pressure’ is a reality.
