After five years as an MEP, Dolors Montserrat repeats as head of the Popular Party list for this Sunday’s elections. She decided to be a mother after separating
There are very few occasions on which the head of the Popular Party list has spoken openly about his intimate life. At 50 years old, she keeps her son Gonçal, 13, away from the media spotlight. “His privacy is sacred, he does not tolerate entering that space,” the PP insists. “He fights and will fight to keep his private life outside of politics.”
According to Beatriz Miranda published in El Mundo a few years ago, Dolors was married for years to her lifelong boyfriend, but she separated and decided to be a single mother. Since then he has not spoken about his love life and believes that his political life should not affect his family at any time. Graduated in Law from the Abad Oliba CEU University, Dolors studied the last year of her degree in Italy with the Erasmus program. She has practiced law since 1997 through her own firm specialized in Urban, Real Estate and Environmental Law. She also has a Community Agrarian Law Program and a postgraduate degree in Urban Planning and Real Estate Law taught by the Pompeu Fabra University. In the political sphere, she has been a councilor and spokesperson for the PP on the City Council of her native town, San Sadurní de Noya.
