Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero announces its release date

On October 11th we will be able to raise our ki!

After so much back and forth, during the conference of the Summer Game FestivalBandai Namco announced the release date of the next installment of Budokai Tenkachi (now renamed globally as Sparking! Zero), for next October 11.

According to Bandai itself, this will be “the first installment of the Budokai Tenkaichi series in 15 years”, which is actually not so much the case, which we already explained in this note: TIKI. The game will be released worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Pre-sales are now available and include early access to several characters, such as Broly (Super), Gogeta (Super).

The new trailer presented at the Summer Game Fest shows the new game mode called Episode Battle, which will allow players to choose one of the eight characters and relive key battles from the Dragon Ball saga. On the other hand, the Custom Battle introduces a new element to the Dragon Ball experience as a game, where players can try their hand at combat imagined by the developers or create their own battle situation and share it with the world. Something that we understand would work as a What if…and that makes perfect sense, given that we already know and replay the same story thousands of times.

The new trailer also reveals new additions to the roster of playable characters, including Goku (Super) Ultra Instinct, Gohan (Adult) Super Saiyan 2, Golden Frieza, Bardock, Raditz, Goku Black, Zamasu, as well as Jiren.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will be available in Standard Edition, as well as Premium versions, detailed below:

  • The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Standard Edition, 3 days of early access to the game, as well as the Season Pass, which contains more than 20 characters including characters from DRAGON BALL SUPER: SUPER HERO and DRAGON BALL DAIMA as well as the Shenron Summon that can unlock items. Early access to DLC characters is also included.
  • The Digital Ultimate Edition includes the content of the Deluxe Edition, as well as the Ultimate Upgrade Pack that includes the Goku (Super) Costume with Power Pole, an Emote Voice Set, 1 Customization item and 2 player card backgrounds. This edition also includes the ability to summon Super Shenron to unlock items or characters.
  • The Collector’s Edition includes UItimate Digital Edition content along with an exclusive diorama of DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO and a metallic bookmark.
  • The Premium Collector’s Editionavailable exclusively from the Bandai Namco Store, includes all the contents of the Collector’s Edition, as well as a SteelBook and 4 exclusive cards from the Fusion World of DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME.

All the pre-orders will unlock access preview the following characters available in the game Gogeta, Gogeta Super Saiyan, Gogeta Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (the “super saiyan blue”, for friends), Broly, Broly Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Broly Full Power. Also A playable character is included and will be revealed later..

As is quite noticeable from the outset, the amount of additional content for sale in the form of characters, bordering on the obscene, so much so that it would make Master Roshi himself blush. We’ll see how justified it is once the game is released. Meanwhile, waiting time is going to pass slower than room time! [i]
