Sumar’s Navarrese candidate for the European Parliament, Carlos Guzmán, has highlighted the importance of this Sunday’s European elections and has called for the mobilization of “progressive citizens” so that “together we can build the future of Europe.”

Guzmán went to vote at 11 a.m. at the Cardenal Ilundáin public school, in the Rochapea neighborhood of Pamplona.

In statements to the media, he stated that in Sumar “we know firsthand what it cost us to conquer democracy and the right to vote in 1978”, so “on days like today what we do is participate, not deny nor renounce that right to vote and encourage all workers, all citizens, to exercise their right to vote.”

The candidate has hoped that “there will be a good day, that there will be a great participation” and has stressed that “although these elections seem like they are very far away, they are very important for all Navarrese citizens.” “Much of what is decided today in Navarra and in our town councils is determined by the European institutions,” he explained.

For this reason, he insisted that “it is very important that progressive citizens mobilize, go to vote and together we build the future of Europe.”

Guzmán has claimed “the necessary pacifist alternative for the European Union.” “We believe that all Spanish and Navarrese citizens are pacifist citizens, we believe that they are committed to those pacifist ideas and we hope that today that vote is also a pacifist vote that is expressed at the polls,” he confided.
