“The Last Escape”, a moving story comes soon to the cinema – El Diario

The Last Escape follows an elderly person named Bernard, who escapes from his residence to attend the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in France. The film is inspired by real events, more specifically, the story that made national headlines about pensioner Bernard Jordan, who in 2014 escaped from his care home in Hove, Sussex, United Kingdom, to attend the event. After local police were notified, the care home received a call that same night to report that Mr. Jordan was in France.
D-Day, also known as the Normandy Landings, was a military operation carried out by Allied forces during World War II on June 6, 1944. It was the beginning of the Allied invasion of Western Europe, with the objective of liberate France from Nazi control and eventually defeat Germany in the war. D-Day marked the beginning of the Western European campaign and was one of the largest military operations in history.
The film commemorates that historic event through this wonderful story starring two talented actors, Glenda Jackson and Michael Caine. Both performers have two Oscars for their incredible performances in other projects. Finally, Michael Caine confessed at 90 years old that this will be his last film, after a successful career in the seventh art.
