The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrellcelebrated the rescue this Saturday of four Israeli hostages during an operation in the Gazan refugee camp of Nuseirat, while condemning the ‘horrific’ Israeli bombing to cover infiltration and which has left, according to Hamas authorities, at least 274 dead and 698 injured.

«Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv are safe and healthy today. We share the relief of families and we call for the release of the rest of the hostages,” the top European diplomat said on his social network account X.

Borrell, however, describes the balance provided by the Gazan authorities as “appalling” and calls for immediate end to “bloodbath” in Gaza before asking Hamas and Israel to accept the peace plan detailed by the president of the United States, Joe Biden, as “the way forward” to achieve the rescue of the rest of the Israeli hostages and “end the suffering.”

Also Egypt, Kuwait and Oman have denounced in the last few hours the Israeli bombing of Nuseirat, which they describe as “brutal and barbaric”. Cairo describes what happened as “a flagrant violation of all the provisions of International Law and all the values ​​of humanity and human rights,” according to a Foreign Affairs statement reported by the newspaper. Al Ahram.

“Egypt holds Israel legally and morally responsible for this blatant attack, and demands that fulfill its obligations as an occupying power and cease indiscriminate attacks against Palestinian civilians, including those in areas where they have been displaced,” adds Foreign Affairs.

Kuwait, for its part, condemns and denounces “the barbaric attack”an “atrocious crime that forces both the United Nations Security Council and the international community to “assume their responsibilities to stop this aggression against the Palestinian people,” according to a statement collected by the official Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA.

Oman also requests the «urgent intervention of the international community to put an end to these crimes against Humanity” and “hold the Israeli occupation responsible for its actions” after “this new massacre.”

Lebanon has also reacted to the bombing with a harsh statement in which it describes what happened as “a serious and clear violation of international humanitarian lawwhich prolongs this crisis and undermines any possibility of a just and comprehensive solution for peace.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry has thus called on the international community and the United Nations to “act immediately and decisively to stop these massacres and attacks, put an end to this humanitarian catastrophe and pressure Israel to comply with relevant international resolutions.”

In the last hours the Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed his rejection of what happened, and characterizes how “brutal” the attack on Nuseiratwhich he understands as a new Israeli “war crime” in Gaza.

“We condemn the Israeli attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp in Loopwhich has caused the death of hundreds of Palestinian civilians,” adds the Turkish Ministry.
