On the morning of this Sunday, June 9, in the vicinity of Salto del Tequendama, a serious accident occurred in which two people riding a motorcycle were involved, one of whom died, as confirmed by departmental authorities.

According to the Official Fire Department of Cundinamarca, the events occurred in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Soacha, specifically at km 8+750 of the road that connects it with the municipality of El Colegio. There, the motorcycle in question collided with a protection wall located on the side of the road, a fact that caused the person who was the co-pilot, a 17-year-old girl, to be ejected and fall into the abyss, “approximately 100 meters”, as reported by firefighters. For his part, the man who was driving received most of the impact and was left unconscious at the point of the accident.
Firefighters and the Red Cross units managed to rescue the young woman, who was apparently trapped in the thick vegetation of the area. The young woman was tied to a stretcher and lifted to the point from where she fell. Both injured were taken to the San Luis hospital in the municipality of Soacha,
Unfortunately, due to the severe blow he suffered after the crash, the man who was driving died shortly after being admitted to the medical center. The man was identified as Jeyson David Quevedo Salcedo. The rescued young woman remains stable in the same medical center.
