New sinkhole in Reñaca: The images that show the damage to the Euromarina II building

The emergency caused by the frontal system triggered the preventive evacuation of 87 apartments, without ruling out the possibility of their eviction.

On Saturday night, a new sinkhole was reported in Reñaca and is linked to the frontal system registered during the last hours, causing the evacuation of at least 87 apartmentss of the building Euromarina II.

A situation that recalls what happened in August 2023, in the Kandinsky building, and that on this occasion also points to a water collector.

Details of the sinkhole

According to the central regional director of Sernageomin, Christian Orellana, “the initial dimensions (of the sinkhole) maintain the same condition, so far this has been fully identified and for the moment It is contained, there is no progress“.

Likewise, the pertinent evaluations are being carried out to determine if this sinkhole constitutes a risk for the inhabitants, and may lead to eviction.

For its part, Senapred reported that the dimension of the sinkhole is 15 meters long and 30 meters deep.

Various records have managed to capture the magnitude of this emergency, taking into account the proximity of the sinkhole to the residential sector, affecting its facilities such as pool and parking.
