Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) announced that it plans to build an advanced computing center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, with NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform at its core, as the CEOs of these two technology leaders reaffirmed their strong partnership at COMPUTEX 2024.

The latest alliance between Foxconn and NVIDIA highlights a stronger commitment to drive smart ecosystems that integrate artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, smart factories, robotics, smart cities and other fields.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang and Foxconn president and CEO Young Liu met on the COMPUTEX exhibition floor, receiving a comprehensive tour of their cooperation at the booth set up by Ingrasys, the Foxconn subsidiary that has been at the epicenter of manufacturing NVIDIA’s groundbreaking GB200 NVL72, MGX, HGX and other products.

After the tour, Huang noted that both companies have worked closely on various product developments, and the proof of the cooperation is clear, especially with the Blackwell product line; Foxconn has excellent vertical integration capabilities and is a vital partner for the GB200.

At the site, President Liu announced that the companies will join forces to build an advanced computing center in Kaohsiung with NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform as the core. Anchored by GB200 superchip servers, this center will consist of a total of 64 racks and 4,608 GPUs, and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

Advanced AI technology integration plans

NVIDIA’s powerful AI technology will power Foxconn’s three smart platforms: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Electric Vehicles and Smart City. Both companies plan to deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, smart factories, robots, smart cities and other fields, and demonstrate the strong competitiveness brought by AI through Foxconn’s huge manufacturing scale.

The companies will deploy NVIDIA Omniverse and develop digital twins to launch platforms in smart manufacturing, electric vehicles and smart cities. In smart manufacturing platforms, image recognition technology integrated with the Group’s autonomous mobile robots (AMR) will enable optimal use of capacity. Production line planning will cover AI server manufacturing and electric vehicle assembly plants.

To this end, the new Qiaotou automotive manufacturing facility of Foxtron, a subsidiary of Foxconn, will become one of the Group’s flagship AI factories. Currently under construction, the site will use digital twins connected to cloud technologies and achieve collaboration between virtual and physical production lines. Real-time digital monitoring will ensure excellence in the manufacturing of an award-winning electric bus, which is currently seeing orders exceed production capacity.
