The Olibeas cooperative, located in the Huelva town of Beas, continues to receive recognition for the quality of its extra virgin olive oils. On this occasion, it has achieved two Golds at the prestigious Global Olive Oil Awards in Berlin (GOOA Berlin), one of the most important competitions in the world in which the best oils on the market are evaluated.

The two Golds obtained by Olibeas in Berlin have been for its single-varietal extra virgin olive oils of picual and verdial, which have competed with hundreds of oils from countries such as Germany, Croatia, Tunisia, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Jordan, North America or Romania.

This is not the first time that Olibeas’ single-varietal oils have been awarded, since the cooperative has been gaining recognition in the market for more than a decade with its Selección and single-varietal editions. Beas, where the cooperative is located, is known as the EVOO capital in Huelva.

This year, Olibeas has won several awards in different competitions. At the 2024 Virtus International Awards in Lisbon, it has achieved two Grand Golds for its single-varietal picual and verdial oils, and a Gold for its Selección edition, which combines the olive varieties produced by the cooperative: verdial, picual and arbequina.

At the Mezquita de Córdoba Awards, organized by the Wine Academy and the Aula del Olivo de Córdoba with the collaboration of the City Council and the Córdoba Provincial Council, Olibeas has been awarded two Gold Medals, one for its picual oil and another for its oil verdial, with scores of 91 and 90 points, respectively.

At the local level, Olibeas has also received recognition. In the 10th Huelva Provincial Council Award for the best EVOO in the province of Huelva, it has been awarded the Extraordinary Award for the Best Single-Variety Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the picual and arbequino categories, in addition to the Great Production Award.

The Olibeas cooperative has a long history of successes and awards, both national and international, which demonstrates the excellence and quality of its extra virgin olive oils. With an annual production of high quality, its oils are the most awarded in the province of Huelva.
