The Undersecretary of Energy, Gaston Ghionireported that in the next electricity bills there will be increases of between 14%, for clients with higher incomes, and 80% for those with lower resources, while the bills of those who are included in the N3 segment, who are those They have average incomes, they will have an increase of around 69%.
But the biggest impact, entering winter, will be on gas bills.. In a press conference, Ghioni maintained that users within the N1 group (those with the highest income) will have an increase of 299%, for those in N2 (middle income) the increase will be 367%, while those who are in the group of lower income (N3), the increase will reach 604%.
“The new increase in electricity rates applied by the national government has the peculiarity of going in a regressive sense: it aims to remove subsidies from the middle and low income sectors,” explained the Buenos Aires official.
Furthermore, he pointed out that “the national government established that “Families benefiting from the social rate have 60 days to register and request to continue in this segment.”.
