Guatemala City, June 11 (AGN).- The President of the Republic, Bernardo Arévalo, thanked the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for its work and commitment to Guatemala.

In his recent visit to the Bamboo Transformation and Research Center, a space that works with the support of Taiwan, the president mentioned that it is time to place relations between both nations at a strategic level.

Given the progress of the different projects executed together and the scope they have had, the President mentioned that they must now focus on actions to give greater depth and density to bilateral collaboration.

For this, he highlighted that Guatemala is ready to work together, scale and make everything achieved advance and thus give it at the country level the impact it deserves, and at the binational level the strategic level that both parties seek.

President Arévalo gives message

In the last part of his speech, the President spoke in English to the various Taiwanese aid workers, to whom he said with joy that the Government is ready to make the contemplated projects work.

Also present at the meeting was the ambassador of China (Taiwan), Miguel Li-Jey Tsao, who thanked President Arévalo for his visit and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continue supporting Guatemala in its development and that of its population.

Support from China (Taiwan)

The Republic of China (Taiwan) is one of Guatemala’s strategic allies and has served hundreds of Guatemalans with programs promoted for their development and empowerment.

Taiwanese cooperation has coordinated different strategies with the Government of Guatemala to provide support to the population, especially those living in vulnerable conditions.
