At least 15 people injured and 10 homes affected is the preliminary balance after the explosion of a vehicle with propane gas in a residential area of Avenida del Río in Pereira, Risaralda.
The emergency, which occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday, generated terror and uncertainty since initially it was said that about 12 people would have been trapped in the house where the explosion occurred. However, later the authorities They ruled out the rumor by confirming that there are no missing people or trapped in the place.

“We found a small cabin with two cylinders that stored propane gas inside, As a result of improper manipulation, one of the lower valves is damaged, causing the escape of this gas and due to its density, it moves towards the front of the homes where it finds any point of heat, generating the explosion. and ten homes were affected and fifteen people were injured,” explained Juan Camilo Ballesteros, Pereira fire director.
The injured were immediately taken to the nearest health centers where they receive priority care.
In addition to the injuries, the explosion also caused the collapse of a wall and minor damage due to the intense smell in the environment.
