It happened during the early hours of Thursday at the intersection of General Olazábal and María Teresa streets, in Lanús. There the gas pipe of a parked vehicle that was unoccupied exploded. The Lanús Oeste Fire Department reported that personnel approached the scene and were able to extinguish the fire quickly. The vehicle was totally destroyed but fortunately there were no injuries.

Neighbors shared doubts about the explosion on social networks.
Residents of different neighborhoods in Lomas de Zamora and Lanús heard the roar and shared posts in Facebook groups concerned about what happened. User Agustina Moreno commented: “The explosion was terrible. Half asleep I thought it was thunder.” Walter added: “It was heard in Centenario” and user Tana Ferro also said: “I heard it from Caraza.”
Users shared several theories about what could have happened until a neighbor verified that it was the explosion of a vehicle’s gas pipe.
