The talk is part of the “Knowledge in your commune” program carried out by the Seremi de Ciencia of the South Central Macrozone and which is expected to be replicated in various
communes of O’Higgins, Maule, Ñuble and Biobío.

Claudia Monje Vidal, Min. Science.- Democratizing knowledge and bringing it closer to students in an entertaining way is the objective of a series of talks organized by the Seremi de Ciencia de Macrozona Centro Sur and that on this occasion, in collaboration with the Seremi de Educación de Biobío, the Liceo San Pedro and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences – EULA Center, ensured that students between first and fourth year could enjoy and learn from the biologist, researcher and academic of the University of Concepción, doctor in Environmental Sciences, Roberto Urrutia who presented the talk “Wetlands and Climate Change ”.

In the activity, students learned the meaning of climate change and its different global and local effects, through examples of the various ways in which it manifests itself. They also learned about the importance of wetlands in Chile and their care and protection in the context of climate change.
