Three vehicles were involved in a multiple accident near the Montecristo industrial estate this morning at around 05:45 hours. The event took place when a rental car, which was traveling at enormous speed, crossed the roundabout of the BP gas station until it collided with a taxi on the opposite side, which in turn collided with a third car.
The rental vehicle, a blue BMW, was heading to Sant Antoni from Ibiza when it went over the roundabout before the Amnesia nightclub. When he reached the other side, he hit hard the back of a taxi from the municipality of Sant Josep that was carrying clients. The force of the crash displaced the taxi, which jumped the median until hitting the side of the third damaged car, a vehicle parked in the Montecristo industrial park.
Despite the shocking images of the event and the numerous dents in the vehicles, there have been no serious injuries. The driver and passengers of the taxi had to be taken to the hospital in four ambulances due to various bruises all over their bodies.
Apparently, the driver of the rental BMW has tested positive for several substances. The Civil Guard has regulated traffic while three teams from Grúas Ibiza have removed the damaged vehicles. Likewise, the numerous scattered remains of the accident have been removed.
