A header from Uruguayan Edinson Cavani reached Boca this Friday to return to victory, with a tight 1-0 against Vélez Sarsfield, and recover some ground in the Professional League of Argentine soccer.
In one of the matches of the day for the fifth date, with La Bombonera full, Xeneize achieved a hard-fought victory against a Vélez full of youth players who stood up to them for long periods of the match.
Vélez even had much more of the ball and Boca was forced to play on the counterattack. However, it was the local team that was more dangerous in its arrival and sharper every time it approached the ‘Fortín’ area.

Thus, Boca added its second victory of the championship and with 7 points it climbed to twelfth place, still far from Talleres (13) that was temporarily the only leader by beating Platense 2-1.
The Chilean Bruno Barticciotto (7) opened the account for the Córdoba team with a header, Calamar temporarily equaled it through Franco Minerva (45), and Talleres regained the advantage with a goal from Alejandro Martínez (70).
