The Paracuellos FC team, owned by businessman Víctor Ferráez Gasque, has the objective of bringing Mexican players to develop in Europe

MEXICO — With the team CF neck guards of the category Third RFEF of Spainwhich in practice is a fifth professional division, starts the Mexico FC Project led by the Yucatecan businessman Victor Ferraez Gasque. The objective is to develop Mexican soccer players who play in Spain and in the medium and long term they do so with Spanish nationality.

Together with other partners, Victor Ferraez Gasque acquired CF neck guards a year ago and is the majority shareholder of a plan that already has the first Mexican soccer player who has been studying for a few months at the CIS University in Madrid, Jorge Mauricio García Guerrero.

In interview for ESPN, Victor Ferraez Gasque He confesses that he does not come from the soccer industry and has never kicked a ball in his life (he played tennis and was on the national sailing team); But he likes this sport and has surrounded himself with respectable people with experience in the areas of football, education and technology. “I am a fervent believer that the only way to change the world is through education.”

Says Victor Ferraez Gasque who began devising the project in 2017, supported by diverse opinions, including those of five former Mexican soccer players who participated in the 1994 World Cup in the United States: Luis Roberto Alves ‘Zague’ and Luis Garcia, among others. “It is a life project, because we not only want to make good soccer players, but also good people, prepared, good Mexicans. We want to develop young soccer players and at the same time prepare them academically and mentally. CF neck guards It is the first step”.

And he explains: “The plan is to reach the Second Division in seven, eight years, moving up categories every two, three years (in this case getting three promotions), and over time there will be several naturalized Spanish Mexicans playing in the Second or First Division. ”.

The strategy is to use the Spanish regulations: “An Ibero-American with a work visa can become Spanish after two years of having legal residence in the country; So in a period of eight years, all the Mexican kids who measure up, who decide to take that step and that change of mentality, we are going to take them and we are going to turn them into Spaniards.”

Ferraez Gasque affirms that in the category in which he plays CF neck guards Up to 22 foreigners can register, “Mexicans if we want, although the best thing is that there are not so many so that those who go have another experience and continue learning.”

What led you to start the project?

For now, he plans to take 18-19 year old players who finish training in Spain and nothing better, in his opinion, than for now to belong to organized clubs of the mexican soccer. He talks about hiring footballers from the Liga MX and of the Expansion League. “We are at the stage of convincing players, including their representatives, and of course the clubs.”

He recognizes that it is not easy to carry out such an ambitious project, but he believes that everything will turn out well by making a good investment in players, having commitment and working hard.

The businessman points out that when CF neck guards ascend in about eight years to the Second Division of Spain, “many Mexicans will have passed through there and how many will have stayed. We will be able to have many Mexicans in the community who will already be Spanish. That is the reason why we started with a 5th grade team. division”.

Ferraez Gasque states that “I could have bought a First Division club, but it was not going to meet the objective of promoting Spain to the talented Mexican player.” He omits to say the cost of the team he bought, but assures that between 34,000 and 40,000 euros will be spent annually for each player in Spain.

What encourages him to carry out a project of such magnitude is that not many good footballers emerge in Mexico and considers that to transcend the World Cup it is necessary for a greater number to play in Europe. “Playing in European teams changes your mentality and you improve a lot in terms of football.”

Finally, he stated that “the project is in the beginning phase and will be completed within 20 years. Let’s aim high and step by step. Next September the official presentation will be made with partners, names, and more in-depth details.”

Victor Ferraez Gasque He is 43 years old; He is married to a Spanish citizen and has five children. He is a real estate entrepreneur and restaurant owner in Mexico and the United States.
