Rodrigo Contreras won the prologue in Macanal and is the first leader of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024 – Colombian Cycling Federation

The competitions of the 74th edition of the Vuelta a Colombia opened with a 7.4 kilometer prologue that took place in the municipality of Macanal in Boyacá, which was won by the Cundinamarca cyclist Rodrigo Contreras of Nu Colombia, with a time of 15 minutes and 50 seconds.

Contreras met expectations by setting the best time and became the first leader of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024.

The Nu Colombia rider, current champion of the Tour Colombia 2024, beat Diego Camargo of Team Petrolike, second placed (16:30), by 40 seconds, and Wilson Peña of Team Sistecrédito, who was third (16:32) after crossing the finish line 42 seconds behind Contreras.

This Saturday the first stage of the race will be held, with a section of 151.4 kilometers, which will leave Guateque, bound for the Boyacá municipality of Chivatá.
