Spain has started its participation in the Euro 2024 in an unbeatable way. After Germany’s performance in the opening match, where it beat Scotland 5-1, Luis de la Fuente’s team also wanted to demonstrate its candidacy for the title by beating 3-0 to Croatia, semi-finalist in the last World Cup in Qatar.
The Spanish team had a great first half, in which the always criticized Álvaro Morata opened the scoring after a great pass into the hole by Fabián. Precisely, the PSG player scored the second after a great play in the area and a shot that hit the post. Carvajal extended the distance just before the break, finishing off a great cross from Lamine Yamal.
Not much happened in the second half, except for a penalty in favor of Croatia that was stopped by Unai Simón. On the rebound, Petkovic scored but it was annulled by the VAR since a teammate of his had entered the area earlier.
With the first three points in the bag, the team is already thinking about its next match, where it will face the current champion Italy, which also debuts this Saturday against Albania. The match will take place next Thursday, June 20 at 9:00 p.m. in Gelsenkirchen at the Veltins Arena, the stadium where Schalke 04 plays. To close the group stage, they will play on Monday the 24th at 9:00 p.m. against Albania.
The clash can be seen on television through ‘La 1’, the channel on which all the team’s duels in this Euro Cup are broadcast. RTVE has the rights to the tournament and will broadcast the 51 matches being played. You can also follow the minute by minute through the LAS PROVINCIAS website.
