WWE CLASH AT THE CASTLE 2024.— On the second night of WrestleMania XL, Drew McIntyre won the World Heavyweight Championship after beating Seth Rollins, but after the fight, an attack by CM Punk allowed Damian Priest to cash in on his Money in the Bank contract, obtaining the title. McIntyre was not satisfied, so he asked for a rematch, which was accepted by Priest on the May 13 episode of Raw. Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles faced each other again with the Undisputed Universal Championship at stake, this time in an I Quit Match. As usual in WWE, if star-level fights don’t close the event, they open it. The fans, who clearly tried, rather than emulated, to outdo their French peers, chanted Rhodes’ entrance theme at full volume, and then sang football-style chants… As it was a fight without disqualification, they began to hit each other for the stands and arrived at the production area. Back in the ring, Rhodes tried to surrender Styles with a crosshair, without success. Styles used less orthodox methods, such as a brainbuster on the commentary table… Rhodes’ forehead began to bleed at the same time as the intensity of the fight increased in tone… Rhodes was hit with the metal stairs. The lowest category fight of the cartel was also the one that potentially had the most possibilities in terms of dynamism. The three couples knew how to take advantage of the format, which takes away from how predictable and tiring tag matches in WWE usually are. The already long rivalry between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable brought both to Scotland, where tensions between Gable and his teammates Otis and Maxxine Dupri have reached exhausting levels. Gable, even with uncontrollable fury, remains a master of technical fighting. The fans knew how to respect that, although they had Zayn as the clear favorite… Loud chants with Zayn’s name, while he, with his arm hurt, tried to climb the third turnbuckle, from where he threw himself into a plank only to be received by flying kicks from Gable… Zayn was able to apply the Michinoku Driver for two seconds… Gable blocked the Blue Thunder Bomb and almost won with a Harley Race-style headbutt from above… Series of German duplexes from Gable to which Zayn responded in kind. the same way… Terrific Dragon Suplex by Zayn: Gable fell almost on his head, but resisted… Exchange of elbows to the head… Gable gave Duprí the belt so he could hit Zayn, but he refused.. The challenger lost his temper scolding Duprí, until Otis confronted him… The fight continued below the ring, where Duprí was accidentally hit by Gable. Otis decided not to support Gable and took Duprí to the locker room… Gable was distracted and Zayn was able to finish him off.
