Sergio Arribas, Almería player, saves a couple from drowning in the Maldives

Spanish footballer Sergio Arribas, who played for Almería this season, became the unexpected hero of a vacation to the Maldives.

While enjoying a well-deserved rest, Arribas rescued a couple who were in serious danger of drowning. The couple, trapped by the strong current, desperately screamed for help, which alerted the footballer, who did not hesitate to jump into the sea to save them.

Security cameras captured the exact moment in which Arribas, relaxing in the pool of his accommodation with his partner, heard the cries for help. Without wasting a second, the former Real Madrid player used a slide that connected his apartment with the sea, descending quickly to help tourists in distress.

Once in the water, Arribas swam towards the couple, managing to reach them and direct them to a safe area. The rescue was a joint effort, since upon reaching the pier, the soccer player’s girlfriend also helped bring the tourists to safety. The footballer’s quick and decisive intervention prevented what could have been a tragedy in the tropical paradise.

The footballer enjoys his vacation without thinking about his future, which aims more to continue in the First Division than to continue in the Second Division.
