Flood warning and notice expires for several towns after heavy rains

He National Weather Service (SNM) canceled, on Sunday afternoon, a flood warning and warning which was issued for several municipalities that are facing heavy rains after the formation of thunderstorms.

According to the federal entity, Caguas, Cataño, Dorado, Toa Baja, Vega Alta, Vega Baja, Añasco, Lares, Las Marías, Mayagüez, San Sebastián They were under a warning that expired.

Meanwhile, a flash flood warning was issued for Carolina, Canóvanas, Bayamón and Guaynabo which, in turn, expired.

The meteorological agency indicated that an inch of rain had fallen in these regions. Likewise, it was not ruled out that the areas received up to an inch of additional precipitation.

As part of the precautionary measures, the federal entity urged people to avoid crossing or traveling through flooded roads.

Earlier, in an interview with The new daythe SNM meteorologist, Ryan Chambershad indicated that the combination of humidity and the presence of Saharan dust would lead to foggy conditions that could give way to the formation of electrical storms. mostly in the north and southwest of the island.

Added to these conditions is a heat warning issued for municipalities from the west of Puerto Rico to the east, mostly in the coastal areas, and for Vieques and Culebra. This warning will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
