What seemed like a typical work day in the life of Moisés Ortiz Urquidi, ended with his death, after the Mexican director suffered, on June 14, a fulminant myocardial infarction while filming his current project. It was his sister, Ana Celia Urquidi who confirmed the death.
“I never imagined going through this great pain. It would be assumed that my younger brother would leave after me. It was not so. Many kilometers away they give me the sad news that my little brother Moisés Ortiz Urquidi, the youngest, the great cook, the great friend, the great director, has left. They tell me telling anecdotes and working. And although that gives me peace, my heart cries, my soul is broken. I just hope to get to Mexico very quickly so I can hug you and tell you how much I love you. Brother of my soul, laugh a lot as always, continue to shine with the light that you have always had,” Ana Celia wrote on her Instagram account. “I’m going to miss you because I don’t know how life goes on without your presence; I’ll find out.”
