The students of Diocesan Minor Seminary to Immaculate Conception of Ourense have worked hard to attend to the various fronts of the project with which they participated in Natural Voice. The center, surrounded by nature, has been incorporating tasks as the editions of the environmental education program developed by La Voz de Galicia and the Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre Foundation have progressed with the support of the Department of Environment and Climate Change, the Provincial Council of A Coruña, the Alcoa Foundation, El Corte Inglés, the Ramón Areces Foundation and Inditex.

Right now the students take care of organic gardens whose fruits they consume in the school cafeteria, they take care of the garden areas, they work on recycling materials, reforestation and the eradication of invasive species. In this last chapter is the smart forest walk that they created with information in QR codes to learn more about each species. That path was part of the game they designed this year to close the activities this year. In the natural space they hid six of the twelve clues of an original escape room which begins within the school itself, specifically in a room that, like a small ethnographic museum, stores the pieces donated by the Queixumes dos Pinos cultural group to the educational center.

With all these elements, including everything from clothing to farming tools to household items typical of the life of Galician farmers at the beginning of the 20th century, the second-year ESO students prepared the slopes. “We have been working for two quarters on make them,” explained Anxo, a member of the group who challenged his third-year classmates to get the key to leave the room in less than half an hour. The truth is that they had it calculated well because it was exactly how long it took the participants to solve the riddles and complete the calculations to continue advancing in the game.

The second year ESO team, which designed the tests, with the coordinator of Voz Natura, Álvaro Leis Miguel Villar

The objective of the initiative is for the participants to return again to the current time, after that foray into rural areas more than a century ago, with more knowledge than when they started the test. The idea, as explained by Álvaro Leis, the coordinator of the Voz Natura projects at the center, is that this activity also lasts over time and can be used in future editions so that other students can test their ingenuity and knowledge.
