Bariloche: officials did not attend the Council due to a pending gas work

The situation generated controversy and discontent among the residents of Villa Lago Gutiérrez and Reina Mora, who were waiting in the Deliberative Council for the Secretary of Finance, Carina Ondarçuhu, and the Secretary of Territorial Planning, Aldo Painemil, who did not appear at the meeting called by the Services, Transit and Transportation Commission.

The officials had been summoned to explain the non-compliance with the gas work awarded at the end of 2023, a crucial work that would benefit more than 500 families in these neighborhoods. However, just five minutes before the start of the meeting, the secretaries of Ondarçuhu and Painemil reported that those summoned would not attend, leaving more than 30 neighbors who had come in search of answers, as well as the table of councilors who they expected.

The gas works project has been a community effort of more than seven years, finally approved and awarded in November 2023, and is included in the municipal budget for 2024. Failure to complete this work not only represents a threat to residents, who could lose a vital project that has required years of work and organization, but also exposes the municipality to considerable legal risk. The possibility of judicialization of the case could result in additional debts for the local government, further complicating the financial situation of the municipality.
