Curicó Unidos defeats General Velásquez in San Vicente by 3 to 1 – Primera Fuente

In an exciting match for the round of 16 of the 2024 Chile Coca-Cola Sin Azúcar Cup, Curicó Unidos won as a visitor by defeating General Velásquez 3-1 this Sunday.

The game began with great intensity and, 27 minutes into the first half, Felipe Ortiz opened the scoring with a powerful shot that gave the squad led by Hector Almandoz the lead. However, the joy was short-lived, as Gabriel Castillo equalized the score with another shot just five minutes later, at minute 32 of the first half.

The first half seemed like it would end in a tie, but in the 47th minute, just before halftime, David Escalante scored a goal after an individual play, returning the lead to Curicó Unidos.

Already in the second half, Curicó Unidos maintained control of the game and, at minute 20, Kevin Harbottle sealed the victory with a goal after another outstanding play, leaving the final score at 3-1 in favor of the visitors.

With this result, Curicó Unidos advances to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Chile Coca-Cola Sin Azúcar Cup, demonstrating a high level of play and keeping its aspirations alive in the tournament.
